Check Ebay uk there are two of them up for auction. Look for Rover P6 Alternator bracket, there is one 2.2 liter used bracket. Hope this helps.

I pulled the engine and trans on my 2000 as a lump, and was glad that I did as 
the flywheel was scored. I removed both servos and the carburettors but left the 
header and cam cover on. I did use an engine tilter and I jacked up the rear of 
the car.
The clutch was really a mess and I'm surprised in worked at all,
I will be removing the AC from the car - its not a good match with a 4 cylinder 
engine. However, I am in need of an alternator bracket part number 574326.
I don't want to cut down the existing bracket, as someone might want the AC and 
they will need the full AC bracket.
Anyone out there with a spare bracket? It would have to from from a late car 
which had the alternator but didn't have AC.

Like the manual get the rear of the car up in the air ………tilt the engine and 
carefully pull out keeping it to the right and voila……no need to rebleed brakes 
etc but good opportunity to examine and clean engine bay , and engine block and 
oil pipes etc etc…………………….pulling the gearbox out by itself is not really as 
hard but realigning it going back in is a hassle and without a lift your space 
to work is at a premium
