[Rovernet] 526387 fuel tank level sender unit P6 (Jose Scoseria)

Emptying the tank was no problem ,  since i have fitted an electric pump in
series with the mechanical , to start the car with full carburettor bowls.
The sender unit rheostat  is totally gone  ( rusted ) .
I made a new insulator in delrin  ( the brass strip had come off the rivet
), and am going to try  installing an MGB rheostat on top of the post  -
resistace value seems ok ( the taper won't be correct , but at least i can
keep going until i get the right one .
