Back home, barely. Another 7 minutes of great running then sputtered into the garage.

No vacuum buildup in the tank, breather lines all clear.

Original mechanical pump delivering fuel to the bulb. New hotspark electronic igintion, new rotor, plugs. Wires relatively new. dis. cap is good. coil is newz 3.0 resistance. 8 gallons of new premium fuel in the tank—just over half full.

I need to did through my points/condensers to see if I have the right ones.

What about localized overheating vaporizing gas after the engine gets hot? How can I rule that out?

All good: compression 140, 141, 140, 120, 145, 140. New plugs today. Adjusted cold start lever to ensure it closed properly. Checked carburetor tune again. Start quickly, runs beautifully for 20 or so minutes then begins to sputter till it shuts down. Once it cools, all is good for another short trip.
