Peter,

This is your problem. You need to be more firm! At this point you should be liberally directing some very salty language towards the car, even.

Have you yet been able to confirm the presence of spark WHEN THE PROBLEM IS PRESENT? If not, you're just taking shots in the dark and hoping you hit the mark.
