Hello Geff,

While the the flexible spherical seat that the gear lever pivots in is
interchangeable with the part for the Rover 2000, the gear lever with
the ball on the lower end was only used on the MkII and MkIII 3 litre.

I have heard of people machining the end of the gear lever so that a
brass ball could be pressed on or threaded on, and possibly others who
have made a ball in two halves to fit over the existing shape of the
gear lever.

The 3D printing idea sounds interesting. I am not familiar with the
materials that can be printed on, but if there is an equally strong or
stronger material available, it could be a great solution. My 3 litre
is an automatic, but I have a kit of parts to convert to 4-speed /
overdrive, including a gear lever that needs the same repair -- so I
hope your printing experiment works out!

Steve
