Hi Steve,
I had these same symptoms with a 1984 Mazda pick-up. It ran great until the engine waned up. Once it was warm, it presented with the symptoms that you describe. I also had troubles starting it warm.
It turned out that the distinctive itself was not advancing. The springs in the plate inside were intact, but the ate itself had become rusted in place so there was no advance when there was suppose to be. I took it apart and cleaned it up. After that, the truck ran great. Like you I thought I had a carburettor problem. But that wan't it at all. No coil or condenser on the truck. It was electronic.
Good luck.

Starts up fine. drives without hesitation. After driving for 10 or so minutes, things start to get progressively worse. First, stuttering on hard acceleration, then stuttering at any acceleration. idle is fine all the while. After about 20 minutes, I can hardly move forward without stalling. I cleaned the carburetor earlier on, hoping that might help. But the problem is still occurring after warm up.
