Hi All and Stephen.

I've always loved old cars and I found my first Rover, a 1948 6 light, in
Horseshoe Bay. Then I bought two parts cars in Langley from a friend of my
brothers. Then I bought my current car a 1949 Rover 4 light, which is a hot
rod if I ever get it finished. I have had a 350 Chevy engine rebuilt and an
automatic transmission for it but I don't have a steering wheel in it or
much else to finish it. My best friend Ron had always said he would help me
finish it but sadly he passed away in 2013.

I sold my 1948 6 light to my brothers friend, the same person who had sold
me the parts cars as I thought he could do a better job restoring it. So it
moved to Victoria, B.C.. I also prefer an automatic so the one I own is a
better fit.

I owned a 1978 Chevy 5 Ton scrap truck for a number of years and loved
working for myself. I was the single mom of 2 children, so I could take
them with me, instead of worry about a babysitter. I enjoyed moving old
cars on the weekends and even took a couple to trips to Oregon, loaded both
ways with old cars. Met a lot of old car people along the way. Sadly the
old truck reached the point that it needed more work than I could afford to
fix so that was that. By then I had also bought a 1955 Chevy scrap truck
which I used as a yard truck and I'd buy a day permit on moving day. I sold
it though at the last house as I was down to the one car, though I have a
lot of body parts for the Rovers from the war years. I felt bad as the
truck just sat in the yard unused for years.

I live in Abbotsford, B.C. on Veddar Mountain in the neighbourhood of the
B.C. Electric Railroad Station. My long time partner and I have 10 acres on
the side of the mountain. My children are 34 and 39 and my son the younger
one, is married with 2 children. His first child is 17 years old and I
raised her but he is now married with a 2 year old son.

If anyone has any interest in checking it out. There is a big antique store
having a going out of business sale, as they are retiring out here on the
Sumas Prairie. Lots of old metal up for sale if your into tractors, tools,
etc.etc. 'Granny & Grampa's Antique's. Check it out on line at
prodaniukauctions.com You won't see this many items in a museum. The
auction is set for Sept 8,9,10.

Well, that's about it. Glad to be back on the Rovernet.
Zellie.
