I lived in Australia for over ten years back in the sixties.
 
About four years ago on a visit to my dear now departed friend Graeme Tutt  (who should be known to you also) I visited Scotts shop in Melbourne and did some business with him.  Scott has since explained to me that sold his station wagon because he was moving from his shop and lacked room for the car. I thought he was retiring - it was a misunderstanding on my part. Scott and I have now resolved this... no hard feelings here.

I fear you have fallen victim to the Australian vernacular! The saying 
'that crap' refers to the content of the message (being untrue) and not 
to any one person involved. I can vouch that Scott is indeed still in 
business.
