[Rovernet] Brake switch needed [Federal 3500S]

Jonathan,

I have a vague memory of replacing this switch on my 3500S with a Land
Rover part.  I think have pieced together enough info to confirm:

The 1969 "Three Thousand Five" and 3500S parts catalog lists the part
number as 570522 and says the Lucas number is 39218.  I tried the Rover
part number in some of the Land Rover vendor parts look ups with no
luck, but these references seem to indicate that LU 39218 is the same as
the switch used in Series 3 Land Rovers with the brake servo mounted on
the pedal box, and that the switch may be the same as used on some
Jaguar XKE Series 3's:

(This site says:  3/8" x 24 UNF thread;  land Rover part number 575166 )
-- I don't know why the Land Rover number would be different from the
Rover number, but if that is the right thread, it should work.

The switch never arrived, so I ordered it again, they sent the wrong one, and said it is the only thing they have for this model. I then sent an e Mail to J.R. Wadhams along with a picture of the new switch (left), and old switch (right). I received the following response:
