Friends,
I had this Tranny rebuilt 5 years ago, and have only driven 2,500.00 miles since. The Transmission is slipping, second gear not working, etc.

Is the Borg Warner 65 any better than the 35? If so, what is the degree of difficulty to install (modifications necessary)???

I sent it back to the shop that rebuilt it, but am concerned that this trans will not withstand regular use, can I beef up this Transmission?

Are there any other options, I am aware of the GM/Hydramatic solution, which would require more craziness that I can deal with right now?

Thank You...

I would check the fluid level and the kick down cable adjustment. Also have you been running Ford 33 spec fluid (Castrol TQF)? Dextron will destroy these transmissions if they were rebuild with new old stock parts. Many of the rebuild kits now are from Australia where the BW35 was manufactured into the late 80's have Dextron compatible linings.

If you want expert knowledge on these transmissions, go and post at classicroverforum.net Harvey P6 is the expert on them. He can advise on kick down cable adjustment and setting the fluid level correctly, and anything else that you might need to check!

James.
