David,
I didn't realize there was a shaft connection with a woodruff key, but I
see it now in the parts book diagram. I would guess that the nut on the
drive flange got loose and allowed the key to shear. If the tapered
surface on the shaft and in the flange are not damaged, then you may be
able to find the crescent shaped slot for the key in the taper and knock
out what's left of the key. Then you would only need a new key.
