Pierre, good to know. I may contact you in the not too distant future, if these remain problematic.

Thanks, Lance

You would probably have avoided the problem if you had bought the new old stock ones we still have for sale.

Pierre

Thanks, I think I've discovered the problem—me! LOL. The new seals are 'fat'. As a result, they do not crank all the way shut. I'm going to have to gently lever them in past the outer edge of the rubber. Once I do that, it is completely sealed. I'm hoping over time the seal will deform slightly. If not, open and closing the quarter lights is going to be a chore.

Hi Lance

As far as I can see, the part number for the seals doesn't change regardless of the latch style.

'70 3500S NADA

Was so excited when JR Wadhams recently added the rubber seals for the P6 quarter light windows. Just finished installing them and I am HUGELY disappointed. There is a gap at the top, where the exterior pivot joint is, about 2 inches long, and almost 0.5" wide. There is literally no seal at that point.

To my question----with the NADA, Rover threw everything, including the kitchen sink, at it. This included the circular knobs on driver and passenger doors to open and close the quarter lights. I can't remember if it was the early 2000s/2200s that had the interior latch which you unlatched and pushed/pulled the quarter light open and closed.

I'm asking this because I wonder if there was a different size window in the latch version for which the new Wadhams seals might be a perfect fit, and consequently a different seal for the circular crank opening model windows on later P6s including the NADA.

My old seals (at 50+ yrs) literally fell apart when I pulled them out, but even with their original cracks I had a vastly superior seal!!!!

Any help would be appreciated.

Lance
