Meanwhile back at RPi.
The owner of this awesome Pilgrim Sumo kit car has owned it for nine years and as you can see it really is immaculate. Unfortunately, its 3.5 engine is currently slightly under the weather, Pilgrim themselves recently removed the Holley carburetor that was causing so many driving issues and fitted an Edelbrock 500, a carburetor much better suited to road driving. Whilst it was a huge step in the right direction, the car is still having some issues with <>difficult hot starting and occasional lack of power/misfiring.
Knowing that the Edelbrock is the tool for the job, our first task is to check the needle and jet profile is correct for the engine. The next will be to remove the Mallory distributor and fit the RPI ignition system which puts out a better spark and has transformed so many cars before it. After all, you can have the best fuel system in the world but if you can’t burn the fuel properly you’re still going nowhere.
