Interesting, Vern! Does the Rover instead rely on propping the throttle open slightly, like the HS carbs on an MGB (and presumably the HS8 on the later 2000TCs)?
I once had a 3-Litre P5 that I couldn’t figure out how to tune properly, as it would just refuse to run on the idle circuit. I eventually removed it and found a gasket that did not have a hole for the idle circuit, thus blocking it completely. Perhaps that gasket was meant for a P6?
