'70 3500S NADA
Very hot, blown #1 fuse "Battery control" circuit.
The wires coming out from the fuse terminal (versus into the terminal, i.e., brown, power wire) are essentially all purple with a black stripe.
Wiring diagram shows this fuse involves: map light, interior dome light, bonnet light, boot light, horns, and their respective switches (including all of the switches inside each door connected, e.g., to the dome light), clock, and cigarette lighter.
NONE of these had a short!!!!!
What I decided to disconnect because it was convenient while everything on and under the dash was apart, but had a purple/yellow wire, was the door ajar alarm. This had worked intermittently throughout the years. It was the culprit. The buzzer had shorted internally.
I went back to my wiring diagram for the NADA model three times and could never find any evidence of wiring for that device. It wasn't even listed.
