[Rovernet] GIRLING Front brake rebuild

In response, the old pistons were pitted, so these are new pistons I am attempting to install. As you might be able to tell from the second photo, the end of the new piston that goes into the housing is, in fact, rounded, but it is not exactly the same as the old one. All the dimensions look identical.   Also, while the old piston was flat, the new piston is indented. I'm not sure why the change. Was that a technical improvement, or was it simple to save money for the manufacturer? Obviously, it would require more fluid to stay in the housing.   All of that being said, do I simply find a way to evenly force the piston into the housing, despite the advice from the manual?
