Bob,I believe a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate for
your car may list all the key numbers (I know it does for my MGs).
From that number, you can order replacement keys from several British
car suppliers here in the USA. I can look the suppliers up if you get
that far.
I was also under the impression that the numbers for these locks were
stamped on the barrel, but of course that requires the unit to be open
and apart...
Best regards,Dan

Subject: Re: [Rovernet] 2000TC Gas cap key

AFTER SEVERAL YEARS AT VARIOUS MECHANICS, MY TC 2000 MAY ACTUALLY BE
ON THE ROAD THIS SPRING HOWEVER, THE FIRST MECHANIC LOST THE GAS CAP
KEY. (HE ALSO LOST THE IGNITION KEY, FORCING ME TO REPLACE THE
IGNITION LOCK….)

ANY THOUGHTS? THE (CURRENT) MECHANIC SAYS THERE’S NO NUMBER ON THE
LOCK. IT ALSO APPEARS TO BE CONNECTED TO SOME PANEL THAT GOES UNDER
THE REAR WINDOW, SO IT MAY BE A BEAR TO REMOVE THE LOCK. ANY IDEA ON
SOURCING A KEY??

	 THANKS AS ALWAYS,

	 BOB
