Anyone who may tackle this job, do NOT following instruction #11 in the manual regarding "Overhaul". #11 states: "Then the right-hand seal and <u style="line-height: 22.72px;">retainer</u> (underline mine) must be removed, by careful drifting, in order to replace seal and packing washer".</font><div style="line-height: 21.3px; color: rgb(68, 68, 68); font-size: 15px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><font face="Comic Sans MS,sans-serif" color="#000000" style="line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt;"><br style="line-height: 22.72px;"></font></div><div style="line-height: 21.3px; color: rgb(68, 68, 68); font-size: 15px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><font face="Comic Sans MS,sans-serif" color="#000000" style="line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt;">After driving around for countless hours to maching shops, drive-shaft shops, etc., etc., they all told me they didn't have a machine/tool which could possibly "drift" out the retainer.</font></div><div style="line-height: 21.3px; color: rgb(68, 68, 68); font-size: 15px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><font face="Comic Sans MS,sans-serif" color="#000000" style="line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt;"><br style="line-height: 22.72px;"></font></div><div style="line-height: 21.3px; color: rgb(68, 68, 68); font-size: 15px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><font face="Comic Sans MS,sans-serif" color="#000000" style="line-height: normal; font-size: 12pt;">As it turns out, replacing the right-hand seal is just as easy as the left hand seal. <u style="line-height: 22.72px;">Leave the retainer in place</u>, and use a metal pick to prise out the old seal. Take the new seal grease it up and just work it into the vacant space with your fingers. The only tricky part is when you reintroduce the inner tube assembly into the outer tube, you have to carefully push it past the left-hand seal (the other end which has only a large, washer/ring the size of the seal sitting on top of it) which will require repeated tamping around its perimeter to keep it from popping out.
