The bowls do have a vent, the little bolt that holds the cover on has a hooded washer with ribs that creates a vent.<br>

Float level is set by putting a 7/16 drill bit between the float needle valve lever and the bowl cover. With the lever pressed against eh drill bit, the needle valve should be sealed.<br>

I want to double-check the float height on the HD8 carbs on my 2000TC. Section N in the workshop manual I have lists data for the single HS6 carb on an SC car, but nothing for the HD8s on an early TC.<br>

I can google it up for other cars that also run HD8s, but I thought I would ask here to confirm what measurement I should be using.<br>
<br>
Also, I noticed that the fuel bowls have no overflows or vents. Does that mean that a bad needle valve or Grose jet will result in fuel being pumped into the intake? Or have I missed something?<br>
