I have a couple of series 1 servos that may still be functional and if we were on the same coast, you'd be welcome to them -- but shipping costs for heavy items makes that a less attractive option. In general, I believe the TR7's servo was smaller and am not sure about the TR8's compatibility (but Rimmers doesn't stock those, either). As for TR8 master cylinders, the brake lines are on the opposite side from the SD1's -- although I've seen one installed on an series 1 SD1's servo with lines wrapped around the m/c to accommodate it (a rather desperate measure reflecting a lack of available spares at the time).<o:p class=""></o:p></div></div><div class=""><div style="margin: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;" class=""><o:p class=""> </o:p></div></div><div class=""><div style="margin: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;" class="">It would have been nice if Leyland had made more effort to share components across model lines, but they clearly weren't very good at doing such things.<o:p class=""></o:p></div></div><div class=""><div style="margin: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;" class=""><o:p class=""> </o:p></div></div><div class=""><div style="margin: 0cm; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;" class="">If you switch to the series 2 combo, you'll need to modify one of the brake lines (Girling unhelpfully used a different size outlet in a move that made it more complicated to retrofit older SD1's with these newer units and, no, Rimmers doesn't supply an adapter). There's someone you know in SoCal who had a red SD1 that I'd installed a 2nd series m/c and servo on -- before he left it out in the desert on a neighbor's lot where it was soon vandalized. Maybe you can rescue those units if it hasn't been scrapped? Other than that one brake line, they're direct fit replacements (but a tight fit, the servo's a slightly larger diameter) and have generally been more durable/serviceable/effective in braking these cars than were the earlier units. There was also no provision made for rebuilding series 1 servos that I recall, so sooner or later the only choice seems to be replacing both items. You can indeed rebuild the series 1 (Lockheed) master cylinders, but without a functioning servo you're still out of luck. So i click onto the TR7's servos, it appears visually the same part as the SD1's. Will they fit the SD1's?
