I was in the UK one time. I don't recall if I tried any

So the car has a steering lock? You’ve got a bit of a
problem then. The entire assembly was serviced as a unit and
the real problem is that it’s held onto the steering column
with two breakaway bolts so it’s a real pain to remove, as
you have to drill the bolts out.
