Hi all:<br>

Ignition key nightmare was solved; Garrett Bourque provided a new one.<br>
<br>
Starter is not working right so I?m sourcing one from Classic Car Performance (formerly British Starters.com) in nearby Saratoga Springs. They originally were going to build me a new one, but decided to supply a new one for a Land Rover (from the 50-70 series)
which they claim is identical. Does anyone know if that?s correct? Are they exactly the same?<br>

Assuming that it is an inertia type starter motor (no solenoid on top) then yes it should. I should also be a stronger starter motor. I think the 2000s came with a M45G starter. The land rover one will probably be a 2M100. Remove the old starter. Count the
number of teeth on the pinion. Count the number of teeth on the new one. There may be 11 instead of 10 teeth. If the pinion is different then swap them over and you will be good to do. I had a problem back in 1998 with this, and the pinions look the same unless
you count the teeth.<br>
