Gordon, from where I sit, BC has always seemed to be the
center of classic Rover activity with more Rovers per square
kilometer than any place in the UK. A Rover Mecca.

If you want to see stumped viewers at a local auto show, you
should see the teenagers inspecting the 1964 Corvair Monza
sedan I recently acquired. Totally flummoxed at the styling,
the air-cooled engine in the trunk, and everything else.

My son Tristan is a Canadian citizen living in Vancouver and
about to move up the coast to to just north of Gibson.
Interestingly, my best online Corvair buddy lives in Point
Roberts, USA accessible only through Canada. I expect to be
in the BC area and visit them both sometime in the Fall. I
have a new Canadian grandson out there.

I think the most fun car I had that was a big draw was my
1959 English Ford 100E Squire Deluxe estate with 32k
miles. People would walk right past all the Lancias and
$20k MGBs (including a genuine RHD BGT V-8) to look at my
car. When I'd tell them it was a Ford sold in the USA, you
could see their brains do a flip.
Could keep up with modern traffic and travel the

Smooth on the road and quiet. It had disc front

the shifting was like an old truck. I understand
the newer remote shifter was better. It was in
an article by Practical Classics Magazine when
they came to the US and the Palo Alto British

magazine for that article. I had sold that car
to someone in Ohio that was going to do it right
as I never finished it. The P4 went to Tom in
Oregon that is on the list, but have not heard
from him in awhile. Not sure where the P6 went,
but sold it locally and then heard it was for
sale a few months later. Wouldn't mine a 3500 in
the future though. Now, I have a Studebaker,

British...unpredictable eh?

The first thing I have done
is have it checked over from
one end to the other by a
shop I know and trust that
knows British. Several items
have come up, nothing bad or
expensive just necessary for
reliable driving. Outer
tie-rods, rear motor mount,
sway bar and strut bushing.
Leaky steering box and
differential pinion seal,
the normal. I'm not a fan of
the Uniroyal Tiger Paws but
they are in good shape, they
will do for a couple of
months.Vredesteins are
hugely expensive. I will
stay on top of it.

different from the P6 in
some ways yet so Rover!

Rovering so I bought

there many P5

the day my P6 comes
