Only difference was the flange on the <br>Discovery FD was thicker than that of the RR FD, and hence some of the <br>studs sticking out of the housing were not long enough to engage a nut. <br>(Of course I didn't find this out till after I had put the FD in!).<br><br>Another point: I have some recollection the the RR final drive had more <br>half shaft splines than the P5 units of the same ratio. I have an old P5 <br>FD and was going to use it to replace the damaged one in my RR, but <br>couldn't for some reason, and that may have been it.?
