<div dir="ltr">For my money....or my clients' for that matter I ALWAYS recommend the original pump....WITH POINTS. Why with points?? Cuz when they give difficulties they are remediable at the side of the road. Right now. With the electronic units if someone for example, connects jumper cables backwards the electronics will fry in .0005 seconds. And there's NO fixing THAT problem!!! With points you can always carry a spare set and there are some tricks for coaxing them back to life at the side of the road. Same story with electronic ignitions....when THEY go bad there's NOTHING you can do to rescue yourself except carrying points & condenser, etc. as spares. Electronic SUs are wonderful until they are not. Mine (from Burlan) died on<br>
the side of the mountain at the 75th anniversary LR rally at Greek Peak<br>
last June. 200 miles on it, but more than 90 days old so Burman would not<br>
help. Rebuild/ conversion kit required. All to say, with points, you can<br>
get home. Electronic? Find a tow rope.<br>
<br>
I did rebuild the electronic (money after a bad decision) but the tool box<br>
has a newly rebuilt points version with the spares.<br>

Oh, 1951 Land-Rover.<br>
