I had a P5 in UK, originally on bias ply tyres, for which it was designed. Soft, but screechy in turns, the radial replacements were more sure-footed, but seemed to have a lag in turns. Good luck with the 3 Litre!

Hmmm...special I like...frustrating is normal with vintage British...unpredictable eh?

The first thing I have done is have it checked over from one end to the other by a shop I know and trust that knows British. Several items have come up, nothing bad or expensive just necessary for reliable driving. Outer tie-rods, rear motor mount, sway bar and strut bushing. Leaky steering box and differential pinion seal, the normal. I'm not a fan of the Uniroyal Tiger Paws but they are in good shape, they will do for a couple of months.Vredesteins are hugely expensive. I will stay on top of it.

Lovely car to drive, so different from the P6 in some ways yet so Rover!

Hi All,

After 4 years of waiting for my '67 P6 TC2000 to return from the body/paint shop (don't ask, there are some very strange people in the restoration world) I decided it was time to get out Rovering so I bought the above car. What a lovely car! I have noticed that the vast majority of the posts on Rovernet concern P6's, are there many P5 owners? I have some questions.

The best part is the day my P6 comes back I will have 2 Rovers, how lucky can I guy be? (unless I bought a P4 and had 3 but that would be crazy..right?)

Cheers,

Gord
