I can’t really help here, other than to say that my Italian market Dolomite Sprint had a number of changes from home market cars, including dual-circuit brakes and the attendant warning lamp. The wiring for that had also been mucked with a bit, but you really ought to be able to find a proper wiring diagram somewhere.
As for the “oddity” of a ‘75 with a factory-fitted 2L engine, Italy was well-known for random 2L versions of all sorts of cars due to a tax provision. See also: Dino 208GT4 and BMW E30 320iS, among others.

Hello from Chilliwack, BC
An -odd duck ’75 Rover TC 2000 badged with a factory-installed 2200 engine.
- According to schematics the oil sending switch wire (not gauge) should be brown with a white tracer…
Instead, in photo (not particularly clear) the existing wire is blue with a white tracer…
Checked that oil light bulb is not burned out…so bulb itself is OK…
So, assume when ignition is turned on the dash oil light should come on. Doesn’t at this stage…and no power through the existing blue wire with white tracer…
- Photo of a “relay” on the passenger’s side (LHD) inner fender...unsure what this relay does...everything works on the vehicle except for the dash light...
Any thoughts...
Regards, Fred Lemna
