Hi Vern
Have been working on rear brakes and suggest.
The hand brake is actuated by several components which your re builder may be referring to
There is a metal shaft running from the rear of the calliper (boot end) to the front. This shaft is connected to the handbrake mechanism at the forward (font of car) At the rear of car, this shaft contains the eccentrics that pushes a Bullet tapered metal pin into the activation mechanism. When the brake pedal is activated the first bullet pushes the activation mechanism. When the handbrake is set, this second bullet pushes the mechanism into activation. So first, check that the shaft is installed and the two pins are in place. The shaft is held in place at the calliper by a slide and locking pin of the front side of the calliper. When this shaft is rotated by the handbrake the handbrake pin activates the mechanism . This mechanism connects to the handbrake levers which are bolted to the front of the callipers. The design aims to ensure that the hydraulics and handbrake are constantly adjusted to wear.
I have an exploded diagram and happy to help. The design is complicated but with correct installation the brake are great..

Internally there is just a little “tappet”, about 3/16 dia and maybe a 1/2 inch long, with a cone on one end. There is a round spring & a retainer screw for the handbrake lever that inserts into the caliper.
Did you send these to White Post in bits or assembled? Did you remove the handbrake lever while removing them from the car? The tappet usually falls out if you do that.
Yours
Vern

I sent a pair of calipers to White Post for rebuilding. They contacted me and stated that the parts that go between the caliper and the handbrake are missing, would you know what they might be?
