Jon, when i replaced the springs, the holes were lined up corrrectly. 
So, you can use the original retaining rods, if you can find them...

My Mechanic claims that after removing the from bumper and wings, There is a space issue dealing with the wheel wells. He claims a special, smaller tool is required. I have looked at several dozen on e Bay, and several people have made recommendations of inexpensive tools. I need to either find a tool brand that has been used successfully utilized by a Rover 3500S owner, or beg, borrow, buy one…
