[Rovernet] 2000TC Clutch burned out

Hi All:

Clutch on 71 Series II Federal 2000TC P6 is burned up. (Thank you, paint shop.)  7/71 is the build date. VIN is 43500220A.

Mechanic says that the clearance on the pressure plate is too big, but is not sure which part is responsible.

Doesn't know whether the early or the late pressure plate is on there and whether there is any difference anyway.

Problem might also be that the flywheel was turned too much during an earlier repair. Anyone know the correct thickness of the flywheel?

Is there supposed to be a step on the flywheel? Any difference between the earlier and later flywheels? Again, we don't even know which one is on this car.
