The original rods only work if the holes in the spring cups are aligned. If they've been dismantled before using a generic spring compressor that other posters have already shown, they may not be aligned in which the rods will be of no use at all. I've always done them with generic spring compressors, fiddly and lack of room doesn't help but it can be done. For additional safety I chain the spring to where the bell crank bolts to the firewall, if it should make a break for freedom it wouldn't get very far.-------- Original message --------From: Jonathan Present via Rovernet <rovernet at rovernet.org> Date: 03/09/2024 04:01 (GMT+00:00) To: rovernet at rovernet.org Cc: Jonathan Present <present.jonathan at gmail.com> Subject: [Rovernet] Front spring compression tool Does anyone have the tool used to compress the front springs on a 3500S?I would like to borrow it, or would purchase, if it is available?_______________________________________________Rovernet mailing listRovernet at rovernet.orghttp://rovernet.org/mailman/listinfo/rovernet_rovernet.org
