Hi Charles,
I don't know the how many miles are on the engine but it looks to have
been rebuilt at some point in the not too distance past. Somewhere down
the line it had something put in the cooling system that caused
crystallization which clogged the thermostat housing and pipe to the
manifold. I had to cut the housing off since the bolts had seized and
cleaned the system out. I managed to salvage the housing enough to run
the car bit it should be replaced. Here is one on e Bay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/371415429630?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
but too rich for my blood. The transmission and clutch seem to be fully
functional but I have no way to check the free wheeling system. The
cable is here but not serviceable. If you think you have a use for the
drive train please do let me know. I was thinking of making a pick up
out of the body if there is enough of it left to use. The rear quarter
is toast and there is an electric sun roof in it now. Right now it is
rather original from the firewall forward including the running gear.
There are some of the body parts that I can use on my P3 75 or I would
be offering the whole car for sale.
Regards,
Ben
